How to clean your Popcorn Kettle? Click Here for a Printable Version of this Information
Your popcorn kettle has a polished nickel finish and is very easy to clean if oil is not
allowed to burn on to the exterior.
The best practice is to take a cotton bar towel and wipe the kettle while it is still warm after the final batch. Once the kettle has cooled the oil will become more difficult to remove. We recommend popping your corn in coconut oil. It gives popcorn a great aroma and taste. Coconut oil does not burn on the kettle surface as easily as sunflower, soybean, canola, peanut, or corn oil.
There are only 2 "don'ts in cleaning popcorn kettles:
1) Don't immerse the kettle in water. This will damage electrical components.
2) Don't use steel wool or similar abrasives to clean the kettle. This will ruin the kettle
by removing the nickel plating.
Clean your popcorn kettle when you notice black carbon forming on the interior kettle
surface. We stock a variety of inside/outside kettle cleaners. Call us if you need a
recommendation.
If severely carbonized it may be necessary to bring your kettle into
our service department where it will be disassembled and placed in our dip tank. We
will be happy to provide you with an estimate.
Treat your customers to the best snack food in the world. And treat yourself to more
profits! A clean kettle will always help you sell more popcorn!
